Building the Future of Mobility with Sri Lanka’s First Ever Automotive Software Community!

We were honored to host Sri Lanka’s inaugural Automotive Software Engineering Community Meet-Up, in collaboration with the ICT Automotive team. This event marked a significant step in positioning Sri Lanka as a hub for cutting-edge automotive software development.

Key insights were shared by industry leaders Jan Smets (Senior Business & Operations Manager), Frederick Bas (Senior Software Architect), and Marco De Bakker (Senior Software Architect) from the ICT Automotive team. They explored the future of the automotive software industry, Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), ACES (Autonomous, Connected, Electric, and Shared) trends, and how C++ engineers can drive the next wave of innovation.

A highlight of the event was the presence of His Excellency Iwan Rutjens, Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka, as our Chief Guest, reaffirming Sri Lanka’s global recognition in the tech space. We were also delighted to have Dr. Upeka Premaratne, Senior Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa, share her insights on the academic landscape shaping the next generation of engineers.

Sri Lanka is now firmly positioned on the map as a rising destination for automotive software expertise. This vibrant community is just beginning, and we’re excited to continue connecting, collaborating, and driving the future of the automotive industry together.

This new release showcases IFS Cloud’s commitment to optimizing operations, driving sustainability, and helping organizations stay competitive in an evolving market.

Here’s a breakdown of the key updates:

  • Integration APIs:

IFS Cloud 24R2 introduces a set of integration APIs designed to automate the management of base data and seamlessly connect external systems with IFS Cloud. These APIs streamline tasks like modifying MRA records, managing resource shift entities, and scheduling events, reducing manual work and improving operational efficiency.

The release includes updates to aviation maintenance solutions, focusing on improving the front-end user experience while maintaining the back-end maintenance logic. These enhancements align with industry standards, providing a more intuitive interface for managing maintenance programs and configuration management.

  • Sustainability as a Competitive Advantage:

IFS Cloud takes a bold step towards sustainability with the introduction of a new sustainability management module. This feature helps organizations comply with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) in the EU and track carbon emissions, set KPIs, and manage sustainability data effectively. It also includes a comprehensive emission tracker for monitoring carbon footprints, now with expanded support for scope three emissions.

  • Carbon Emissions Tracking in Procurement:

The new version integrates carbon emission tracking into procurement processes, enabling procurement managers to add emission details for purchased goods and services. AI integration for carbon emission predictions further enhances decision-making, empowering businesses to reduce their carbon footprint in the supply chain.
